This will be a short post. I promise, really.
I would like to proudly announce to the world, nay, the universe, that I have finally written all the lesson plans for all of my summer camps!
Every single day has been planned into gorgeous little nuggets of learning, with outdoor play and nature walks in between, and I am sooo excited. The lower elementary camps have an ‘Around the World’ theme, so there are references to artists, and processes from every continent. The kids will learn about Adinkra block printing, Inuit stone structures, and Maori body art, in addition to a lot of other things (I would like to apologize in advance to the parents of any kids who get too excited about the body art – hide your indelible markers right now 🙂 ).
Calendars have been marked, materials have been ordered, my house is being re-organised next week, but right now I’m packing.
That’s right, you heard me. I’m going on a mystery-birthday-beach-vacation which will involve a lot of lazing around in the sun .
I’ll be back next week relaxed and refreshed, and ready to take on the camps. I’m doing this for my students, don’t you know?
After all, a happy teacher means a happy class.
Have a very happy Independence day.
